Wholesale Nested Basket Pricing

The word "nested" means a set of three or four (or more) duplicate baskets or boxes that fit inside each other, with the largest basket acting as a container protecting the complete set. You'll find more industry terms and definitions at GiftBasketDictionary.com.

This chart will help you to correctly price each nested piece.

EXAMPLE 1:
You're buying a set of three (3) nested baskets or boxes at a wholesale cost of $10.00 per set. Two pricing options are available. Choose the one that's best for your pricing.

First Pricing Option: Calculate a 50-30-20 split

Large basket - 50 percent = $5.00
Medium basket - 30 percent = $3.00
Small basket - 20 percent = $2.00

Second Pricing Option: Calculate a 40-35-25 split

Large basket - 40 percent = $4.00
Medium basket - 35 percent = $3.50
Small basket - 25 percent = $2.50

EXAMPLE 2:
You're buying a set of four (4) baskets or boxes at a wholesale cost of $10.00 per set. This option works best because of its simplicity.

Calculate a 40-30-20-10 split

Largest basket - 40 percent = $4.00
Large basket - 30 percent = $3.00
Medium basket - 20 percent = $2.00
Small basket - 10 percent = $1.00

Adjust your costs according to the total wholesale price ($15 per set, $20 per set, etc.). This percentage split also helps you calculate retail prices before you buy your baskets.
