There are thousands of baskets for you to choose from when considering what to buy for your designs, but it's often difficult to buy all of them. That's why it's wise to educate yourself regarding the basics before buying your starting inventory.

Here's a short list of the many styles you will see when visiting basket wholesaler showrooms, trade shows, and other supply sources.

  • Small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes
  • Square, round, and oval styles
  • With and without handles
  • Made from wicker, wire, and ceramic
  • Unpainted, painted in one color, and painted in multi-colors
  • Shapes of homes, bird houses, fishing tackle boxes, and more

Before buying your basket inventory, think about the person who will receive it. That will help you narrow your choices.

A general inventory breakdown for a first-time, full-time designer might consist of 12-18 baskets in various sizes and styles. Box containers, also very popular with customers, are another consideration. Wired containers might be overlooked at the beginning, but as you become comfortable with your design style and seeing styles made by other designers, wire may soon become a desired container.

Buying baskets in a nested format (3 or 4 of one design in varied sizes) is another popular way to buy baskets. If you buy nested sets, here's the pricing formula on the wholesale baskets page.

Basket suppliers have lots of styles and shapes to offer. You'll see many options on our separate baskets site.

If you cannot find many basket sources, we've created a one-of-a-kind report available that lists U.S. basket manufacturers, suppliers, and wholesalers.

Basket Sources contains:

  • Company names, addresses, toll free, voice, and fax numbers
  • Web site addresses
  • Minimum order, reorder, and service charges if ordering less than minimum
  • Credit cards accepted

You get more than 70 sources.

Don't waste time searching for basket suppliers. Your complete source is here.
