How to Sell More by Giving Away Leftovers

By Shirley Frazier
Sweet Survival®/GiftBasketBusiness.com

Snack baskets are a favorite of people who are invited to parties and intimate gatherings.

Popcorn, cheese, crackers, biscuits, and ciders are teamed with plates, napkins and cups for a fabulous feast.

If any of these items or other products in your inventory are left over before the summer ends, pack the goodies into individual tote bags and treat some of the people who provide you with service.

How about the post office clerks you see most often? They’re a group of prospects who love gift baskets and are prime candidates for orders.

Another idea for giving away leftovers is to give clients a goodie bag when they spend a certain amount during a specific month. Clients who buy $50 or more get one type of goodie bag, clients who buy $75 or more get another, etc.

Get creative when giving away products that won't sell. You'll free your inventory of lackluster merchandise and make space for products that are proven sellers.
